Marisena Manchego- Roswell/Bent

Style of Dance: American Tribal Style/Improvisational Tribal Style

Marisena was first introduced at 18 to the Art of Bellydance in the form of American Cabaret, studying with Scheherazade in Columbus, Ohio. Using the art form as an internal journey of self-discovery as well as the strengthening of her physical body, she has has been blessed to have studied with many greats throughout the years.

She was the founder and director of Farashi, an award-winning Tribal Fusion Bellydance Company in 2002, and taught and/or performed in several states in the USA, Mexico and Ireland. In 2019, she co-founded and is the Creative Director of Sierra Sáhir, a Bellydance Fusion Tribe, based in Ruidoso.

Her background in Dance, Bodywork/Massage, Movement & Sound Therapies provides a supportive, cheerful atmosphere and her classes embrace both beginners and dancers from any dance background.


Sierra Sáhir Troupe- SE NM

Sierra Sáhir (transl. Mountain/Spanish, Magic/Arabic) was co-founded in 2018 in Ruidoso, New Mexico and are a Belly Dance Fusion Tribe.

You may sometimes see them dancing lovely, fully choreographed Spanish Fusion or Egyptian Belly Dance, however they are happiest dancing Improvisational Belly Dance, a flowing, interactive dance that is a living representation of their love for dance, each other, the audience and the world.

Marisena Manchego of Roswell/Bent is the Creative Director, Gay Hedges of Silver City and Sheshen of Bent are Co-Directors, and Teresa Montez, of Bent and Sicily Powell, of Alto, hold beautiful space and contribution to the Tribe.


Yogini Yoli- Portales

Style of Dance: Fusion, Bollywood

Yolanda was born and raised in Portales, NM. From a young age she was captivated with movement and dance. In 1999 she took her first belly dance class. The passion and curiosity grew greater until she became a member of the Nataraja’s and took her first professional workshop in Santa Fe at Pomegranate Studios hosted by Carolena Nericcio.

Yoli currently teaches yoga and belly dance at Eastern New Mexico University and is the director of Fusion World Dance, performing at many local events from the annual Ethnic Fair to the Clovis Comic Con.

She has hosted numerous workshops and shows including the late Bollywood Superstar Queen Harish and Rajasthani Gypsy Caravan with Suva Devi and Katrina Ji.

Yolanda is currently enrolled in the Rajasthani Folk Dance Program Certification honored by UNESCO and is a member of the New Mexico Belly Dance Advisory Board.
